Jesus for President - Campaign tour ‘08

Are you looking to get involved in a Presidential campaign? A campaign that you can believe in? A campaign that could benefit the city of Richmond? A campaign that is truly for revolutionary change?
This summer The Gabriel House (A Catholic Workers Hospitality house) and the Well are pleased to announce that Shane Claiborne and Chris Haw are coming to Richmond, Virginia for their Jesus for President book tour.
When: July 23rd (7:00 p.m.)
Where: Tabernacle Baptist Church (located on the corner of Grove and Meadow)

I get a bit of a ‘twitch’ when I read that title…since I’m not American I don’t experience the close tie of religion and politics (some of the very conservative parties here try to do this but it really doesn’t fly). I’m very glad for this, because to me, it makes no diffrence what a person believes religiously weather he makes a good leader or not. I am curious as to what the books is about, because it could take diffrent perspectives. I will have to look for it, and give it a skim.

I understand you “twitch”, and you are right about the differences between here and there.
The book is broken up into 2 basic parts. The first half is basically narrative theology 101 which leads to a second half that is chalked full of great little stories about pledging allegiance to a slaughtered lamb. It is very counter-culture to the politics of our day.
